My name is Kerry Jespersen. I am an associate member of PACCC (Professional Association of Canadian Christian Counsellors).
I have been trained as a Marriage & Family Therapist, receiving a Masters of Arts degree from NABS (now called Sioux Falls Seminary) in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta in 1988.
My approach to counselling is known as the Internal Family Systems Therapy model. It is one of the fastest growing approaches developed over the last 20 years. This approach is very effective in dealing with the entire spectrum of individual and relational concerns, including couple's therapy.
The Internal Family Systems process involves helping people heal through listening inside themselves in a new way. Clients learn how to listen to different "parts" of themselves - feelings or thoughts - and in the process unburden themselves of extreme beliefs, emotions, or sensations that constrain their lives. This unburdening and healing process allows one to better access the Self, our most precious resource.
